4 Months Old

I am 4 months old today. Here I am trying to get a taste of this sign.

And here's me with Grover. He's my buddy.

Wrestling with Grover. I win!
Mmmmm, Grover tastes goooood.
Not as good as my fingers though.

Wow! What has happened this last month? Well...

I am now 25" long, weigh 12 pounds 11 ounces, and my head is 42 cm round
I have gone for walks in the rain

I can hold my bottle all by myself!

Mommy and me went to see Yvette and Sophia and Ashley and Trent today! It was so good to see them. Sophia was looking quite cute in her red hat and Trent is bigger than me! And he's a month younger... hockey player in the making they say. Hmmm, I wonder what I will be when I grow up. Well, I am growing up fast, check me out - I can hold my own bottle now! I saw Sophia doing it today and thought "I bet I can do that." Taa daa!

sleeping on daddy

Look at me and all my 25 inches!!

4 month Doctor visit

I saw Dr. Clark today, my pediatrician. I now weigh 12 pounds and 11 ounces (21st percentile), am 25" long (70th percentile), and my head is 42 cm round (57th percentile). Dr. Clark did mention I have sensitive skin and that the back right side of my head is a little flat... so people have to start holding me in their right arms more! But other than that, she told Mommy I am a perfect baby! I also got my next round of shots today. Yikes! It hurt, but I was a big boy and I barely even cried (once Mommy picked me up). Got cool Daffy Duck bandaids too. No fever or fussiness later for me either. I know, I am such a tough brute (as Daddy likes to say).

By the way, the doc also said to limit my time in the jumperoo (to about 15 mins) because it can cause shortening of my tendon from bouncing on my toes... thus lead to toe walking! I don't want that! I will have to be careful. It is so fun though!!

rain walk

Mommy and Daddy are weird. They got all excited about the rain today and put on all their rain gear to take me for a walk at the park. Well, we got to test out the rain sheild on the Bob, but of course, it stopped raining once we got there - and they were bummed. Silly parents. :)
It was my first ride facing forward in the Bob!

Do you see the raging river?!

magic carpet ride

Joshua Tree hike to Ryan Mountain

My mommy and me went to Joshua Tree again last weekend, this time with my mommy's friend, Sameer from Seattle. Sameer is cool! It was a 3 mile hike round trip and Mommy carried me in the Bjorn the whole way! She said she was pooped at the end. I was awake for most of the hike this time too and had lunch at the top of the mountain. It was fun! I even got to play on the rocks a little bit.

Huh, what's that... ooooo, tv!

Oh, right... CHEESE!

A day at the park with Mommy, practicing holding on to stuff and wearing my cool green hat from Sophia, handmade just for me!

Hanging out in my bedroom

I love those guys, my stuffed animals: Buddy, Grover, Mr. Giraffe, Cookie and Eeyore!

Our First Trip of 2010 - Joshua Tree National Park

Mommy, Daddy and I went to Joshua Tree National Park again! It was so fun, but kinda cold! Mommy carried me in the Bjorn with all my supplies in her backpack, and Daddy carried the rest of the supplies with him. I napped a bit, but mostly stayed awake this time - especially when Mommy changed my diaper and I peed on my clothes so she had to change them... brrrrrrrrrrrr! You should try being totally naked in the wind! Geesh! I didn't cry though, I am tough!

The trail was the Crown Prince lookout trail and was an easy 3 miles. While I ate, Daddy walked around trying to find an old battery that was supposed to be there, but he couldn't find it. We did find some rock formations and I got to see huge boulders and neat trees and bushes and cacti... and 2 bunnies!

See me and Mommy on the left?

My family.

We found this sad face... but couldn't let it stay that way!
Turn that frown upside down!

Bunny!

New Year's Resolutions

Mommy has been trying ot get me to go to bed at 8 in the crib in my room this week... but I haven't been a big fan. Last night though she pulled out all the stops to get me to sleep and I decided maybe my New Year's Resolution can be to go to bed on time without screaming. We'll see... What did Mommy do? Later bedtime at 9 after a bath and a massage, swaddle, pacifier, a new fishtank toy with ligths and sounds and movement that is so pretty and hangs on the crib, mom and dad hung out with me in my room earlier in the day and I took a short nap... I am fighting another cold off, so that can make me a little cranky, but all these things made it just right and I happily went in my crib and fell asleep. I am sleeping 7-9 hours a night now, eat, and then take in 2-3 more hours of sleep. PS, I hate that darn booger sucker Mommy keeps putting in my nose. Yuck yuck yuck.

I am also excited about my hands, not only can I suck on those little fingers of mine whenever I want, but I also can use these things to hold stuff! I don't really know what to do with it once I have it in my hand, but Mommy and Daddy have been handing me all these new toys I had never seen before. Sometimes I just like to play with my own fingers!

So, what are my resolutions for this year? Go to bed at a consistent bedtime, learn to crawl and walk, learn a new language, be a good friend, try new foods, grow some hair... whew, that's a mighty list, but I can do it!
