I haven't been feeling well and had a hard time falling asleep for my nap today, so mommy rocked me to sleep. Daddy found us like this when he got home. So cozy. :)

NFAR 5K and more

This weekend the family went to San Diego to walk the NFAR 5K race with everyone (Yai, Yai, Papa, Aunt Summer and Uncle Jeff, Cousins Jack, Chase and Sydney, and more). There were soooo many people there and lots of free stuff! It was very pretty in Balboa Park and we had fun. Mommy says I went last year too, when I was still in her belly, but this year I got a medal for doing the race! I have two medals now! I am so cool!

Before the race we spent the night at Yai Yai and Papa's and after the race we spent the day at Aunt Summer and Uncle Jeff's. They were having a birthday party for my cousin Jack who turned four earlier this month. I got to see a pinata getting whacked, and lots of kids running around and playing, and doggies, and I WENT SWIMMING again! I didn't really do my frog legs swim this time, but I did get to float around a lot. My mommy warmed up my bottle in the hot tub (yeah, I am still being picky about how I like my formula).

It was a really fun weekend! I am grateful I get to see my family every month!!

6 months old

I am 6 months old today!!! This has been an exciting month! I can sit up on my own, although I still need to be supervised. I can babble really well, and have said momma and dadda, kinda. I started eating rice cereal, sweet potatos and peas. I weigh 14 pounds and am 26 inches. I got a new swing in my front yard. I am a pro at rolling over and really go places and like to sleep on my tummy in my crib now. I am teething. I love to reach out and grab everything and explore. I hosted my first playdate and we had bubbles and painted our feet for footprints.

Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath this weekend, it made me very sleepy! Quack quack.

On Sunday Mommy went to Universal Studios and I got to hang out with Daddy all day. He even let me be in charge of the remote.

Today I met our neighbor Sue. She is nice. Last year she and her husband grew a giant pumpkin from a little seed. It was bigger than me when I was born... shoot, bigger than me now even!

Tonight I was introduced to peas. They seem good enough!

And Mommy caught me in the act of sucking on my toes. How embarrassing!

Swing

Daddy got me a new swing! Mommy hung it on the tree today! I LOVE it! :) :)

6 month appointment with doc

Today I weighed in at 14 pounds (well, technically 13.15.8 - close enough!). Still haven't doubled my birthweight, but I am in the 5th percentile (up from the 3rd last week)! Dr. Clark is not concerned at all. She said I look great. I am also an inch longer, 26" now and still the 50th percentile, and my head is now 43 3/4 cm (not sure what percentile that is). I got my shots and the flu shot today. They hurt, but as usual I got over it pretty quick!

Sweet Potato

This week's adventure is Sweet Potato! I like it! Mommy steamed and pureed me some and froze it in ice cube trays so I can have a little helping every day! At first I got it all over my face! But I am getting much better at actually eating it now! :)

Babbling

In the last week or two I have gotten quite good at babbling! Mommy is beside herself because I even figured out how to say "mama", kinda. Here's a video... but I will admit, I am camera shy with my babbling, so I don't say much here... I think my mommy was trying to hide that the camera was on at first... :)

Mommy and I went for a walk at Brookside Park and hung out for a little while watching everyone play. There were these boys that were riding bikes up and down the hill, they were so fun to watch! And there was a kite flying high in the sky! And there were swings! Fun.

Do you like my sock monster Mommy made me before I was born? I do. He is fun to chew on!

eating again

Meh, I still don't like bottles very much, but I did go from eating 7 ounces at day care on Monday to eating 12.5 ounces today! Kim and Mommy and Daddy seem to be very excited about this. I get to go see Dr. Clark in a week and get weighed again! I still haven't doubled my birthweight yet. I can't wait... oh, wait... did Mommy say something about getting more shots... no, i Can wait. Umm, maybe I will call in sick that day.

Ford Park

Mommy took me to Ford Park in Redlands today. It is a pretty park with lots of ducks and frisbee golf and people fishing in the ponds and grass and trees and SWINGS! Yup I went on a playground swing for the first time! It was so fun! I can't Wait to go again!

PS - I have eaten a lot today! I don't know why, but for some reason the bottle doens't seem so bad today. Maybe its the Avent #4 nipple, or the Born Free # 3 nipple, or that Mommy gives it to me really warm, or maybe its the formula itself (not Costco anymore, back to GoodStart), or maybe the position (on the floor laying down), or maybe its just because I am really hungry. Mommy still lets me eat from her after, but I think I understand that I will only get my "dessert" if I finish my bottle! I haven't decided yet if I will eat as much at daycare tomorrow... we'll see. :)

Rice Cereal

Yuck, I do not like bottles, I do not like formula, and turns out I do not like rice cereal either!

I went to the doc today and I now weigh 13 pounds, 5 ounces, which is actually not good. It is in the 3rd to 5th percentile! Eek. I so just wish Mommy could feed me all the time! Cause that's yummy, but all this other stuff I could do without! Yuck. It does seem like Mommy and Daddy are going to be relentless about this though. I may have to give in sooner or later. Bah.

But - I do like trying to grab everything now! It is fun to try to get things from my mommy, like the pen she is writing with or the boxes of food at the grocery store!

I am also rolling off the blankets all the time now. My mommy and daddy think it's funny when they put me down, turn around for a minute and then turn back to find me in another spot. The were reminiscing about the times they used to put my on the coffee table and I would just lay there completely still. Ha - no more of that! Oh how I can't wait to crawl like Asher. He is only a few weeks older than me, but he already figured out how to crawl! He is so cool.
