This morning my mommy and I went for another walk in Prospect Park. I took a nap, of course, but there is a really pretty view there! We walked up big hills and all around and in the orange groves. There are lots of different kinds of trees and flowers there too! Then we went home and played, Mommy and Daddy made faces at me and I smiled and tried to follow their eyes - it was the first time I played this game with Mommy! She also made a new toy with ribbons and tickles me with them, its fun!

Almost 10 pounds

On Friday Mommy had her last Moms Joining Moms class and got to weigh me... 9 pounds 15 ounces! These are Mommy's and my friends: Merari and Leila, Mommy and Me, Yvette and Sophia, Ashley and Trent, and in the back are Amber and Mason (the instructor) and Carrie and Adam!

Yesterday we went to Sophia's. I really liked her vibrating, rocking chair!!

Here we are doing the Warrior Pose.

And this is the Tree Pose.

I even get to play on the ball!
All that hard work sure tuckers me out!

Follow the monkey

My vision is getting better and better... tonight I realized there's a monkey above my changing table! My mommy noticed I was looking at him and brought him closer so I could see him better and then she moved him around so I could practice tracking with my eyes. I like the black picture frames on the white walls in the living room, too, and have been staring at those when my mommy dances with me, but this is the first time I followed something colorful with my eyes. Aren't I amazing!? Mommy says she made the monkey just for me and is super glad I like them!

Smile!

I smiled at Mommy for the first time today (during a la leche league meeting)! She seemed to be pretty excited! I have smiled many times before, but this time I looked right at her to make sure she knew "This one's for you!".
This is my deep-in-thought look! :)

Infant Massage

Mommy took me to a Massage Class for four weeks!! She learned how to massage my legs, tummy, chest, arms, face and back and OOooOOOoh how I love it! She massages me at least once a week and it is just so relaxing! And guess who else was there... that's right, my best buds Sophia and Leila! Maybe when I get big enough I can return the favor and give Mommy a massage (Mommy hopes so!).

Usually I get down to the diaper, but I wasn't feeling well tonight (I think I ate too much - 4 ounces from the bottle!). Mommy was worried because I spit up a lot this morning and tonight and then Daddy came home sick today... but I think I am okay. Mommy is going to get the H1N1 vaccine tomorrow though because she is a big worry-wart. Hopefully we can all stay healthy, as I hear flu season is here and the Swine Flu is verrrrry aggressive... it's a pandemic! Eeek. Don't forget to cough into your arm or a tissue and wash your hands often!

Mommy quarantined Daddy and she and I are sleeping in MY room tonight just to be safe until we have that vaccine! My first night in my crib actually... it is so spacious compared to the bassinett! And the mattress is much more comfortable. I think I like it! Plus we have the froggy humidifier keeping us company, he's neat!

standing tall

When Mommy puts my feet on the table, I just love to show how tall I am by straightening and stiffening my legs! We are at Brookside Park on this beautiful day where we go for our walks.

Joshua Tree National Park

Mommy and Daddy took me to my first National Park today, Joshua Tree. Daddy just couldn't wait to take me to my first National Park! Mommy and Daddy love National Parks and hiking and camping and stuff like that. I can't wait to go camping, that sounds like sooo much fun.
So, I don't remember Joshua Tree very well, as I slept pretty much the entire trip... BUT thank goodness for pictures! I was hanging out in the Bjorn for the hike! It is just so cozy, I bet you would fall asleep too!

Joshua trees are so cool in the sunset.
Yeah, so I was sleeping for this picture.
...and this picture

Here's the Wall Street Mill.
and some cool old cars...

Mommy made me wear a hat AND a hood because it was a little chilly out there! She forgot to check my legs though... brrrrrr! But, it didn't stop me from sleeping the whole way!

6 weeks old - dance party

I got to dance the night away to celebrate turning 6 weeks old!

I never realized my mommy's hands were so big!

Mr. Smiles

I started smiling at my daddy today. :) And I almost turned over from my tummy... but not quite...

The Baby Bjorn

My mommy says her life has changed forever... the Baby Bjorn! Ooooh how I love it too! I get to rest on my mommy while she can still do stuff! It really is amazing and so comfy. We went on a long walk this morning in the Bjorn, and mommy did errands around the house and can do things like type with two hands while I still get to hang out on her!

A Libra Born in the Year of the Ox

So I have learned I am a Libra!

I did some research on line and learned that Libra is the seventh sign of the Zodiac. Librans are first and foremost focused on others and how they relate to them and they don't want to be alone. They are good when paired up as they epitomize balance, harmony and a sense of fair play. While they are true team players at work, their favorite partnership is at home: marriage. Librans are most compelled when they are coupled up with their lover forever. It is the Scales which symbolize Libra and Librans want to be on an even keel and striking the right balance. Librans are objective, just, and want to do what's best for everyone. They abhor conflict. They study every possible angle in the hopes ofs acheiving peace and harmony, so much that others may see them as fickle and indecisive. They are keen strategists, organizing groups with poise and getting the job done. They are also sociable folks.

I also learned that, according to the Chinese Zodiac, the year 2009 is the Year of the Ox (or Buffalo)!

After some research, I learned that those born under the influence of the Ox are fortunate to be stable and persevering. The typical Ox is a tolerant person with strong character. Not many people could equal the resolution and fearlessness that the Ox exhibits when deciding to accomplish a task. Ox people work hard without complaints at work or at home. They know that they will succeed through hard work and sustained efforts, and to not believe in get-rich-quick schemes.

Invariably solid and dependable, Ox people are excellent organizers. They are systematic in their approach to every task they undertake. they are not easily influenced by other's ideas. Loyalty is a part of their make-up, but if deceived they will not forget. Oxen do not appear to be imaginative though they are capable of good ideas. Although not demonstrative or the most romantic people, they are very dependable and make devoted parents. Oxen are known for their patience, but it has limits - once roused, their temper is a sight to behold.

People born under the sign of the Ox usually have strong codes and work ethics. This can lead to a tendency to be a workaholic, and they should make an effort to relax more. Ox people are usually strong and robust, and according to ancient wisdom, they should be blessed with long lives. The Ox home is his castle where he finds relaxation and peace form the everyday hustle and bustle of his career or responsibilities. He also enjoys spending much time in planting gardens and trees. He generally prefers to decorate home comfortable with nature colors.

Able, ethical and aware, co-workers of the OX can depend on their eyes for details. Because they are so well organized they are better-suited for specialized positions and prefer to work in large companies. They work best when they work alone since they can be in happy when participating in a large group.
