My First Camping Trip

I went camping this weekend! It was my first camping trip ever! We went to Butler Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park and camped in one of my daddy's favorite spots (at the end of a 10 mile dirt road past Dry Lake) and then camped in Belle Campground in Joshua Tree National Park. It was very dry and very hot, but we went on a few hikes and made campfires and relaxed under the new Alcove and in the the new Kingdom6 tent we just got. It was super fun, even though my skin is very sensitive to all that dryness! I saw lots of lizards too!!

This is our campsite in Joshua Tree NP.
We went hiking here on day two of our trip, it is between Anza Borrego State Park and Joshua Tree. It is called Painted Canyon near Mecca.

This is our campsite on our first night out, in Anza Borrego Desert.

This is what happens to me when I go on a hike with Mommy and Daddy!

Small hike in Joshua Tree near our campsite, day three (feeling very sleepy).
Me and Daddy at our campsite in Joshua Tree.

Hanging out in my pack n play at the campsite... away from all the neat looking dirt that Mommy wouldn't let me grab... boooo!

On our hike in the Painted Canyon, day two. We saw lots of lizards on this trip. Mommy even touched this one and Daddy got some video (see below in the slideshow)!

Riding in this backpack is so awesome!

Here is a slideshow of all the pictures from out trip, lots!
The little box with the arrows in it on the bottom right will make the slideshow full screen. You will need to then hit your escape button to come back to this blog page.

8 Months Old

I turned 8 months old today!
What have I been up to this month? Well, it was an eventful one!
I weigh about 17 pounds 6 ounces and am about 27 inches long.
I started eating finger foods (just cheerios and banana bits)
I figured out how to go from laying down to sitting up on my own
I can balance on my hands and knees
I am starting to stand while holding onto something on my own
I now eat oatmeal, summer squash, banana, sweet potato, peas, zuchinni, green beans (yuck), cheerios, carrots, pears, butternut squash... and some Earth's Best combos like peas and brown rice. I really like food.
I consistently sleep throught the night (havebeen for months and months) and go to bed around 8:30 and get up around 6:30 and take a 2-3 hour nap in the morning when at daycare and another nap in the afternoon. I eat 4-5 6 ounce bottles a day and 8-12 ounces of solids a day.
My mommy celebrated her first Mother's Day.
I went on a hike on Mount Palomar in my fancy backpack.
I flew in a plane for the first time and visited Seattle for the first time.
I went to the Woodland Park zoo and fed a giraffe (well, I guess my mommy fed him!).
I touched moss and saw a waterfall (Twin Falls) and a huge lake (Lake Washington)!
I met my Gruncle Dean and lots of Mommy's friends in Seattle.
I celebrated Daddy's 35th birthday.

Palm Springs again :)

We went to Palm Springs (well, Palm Desert) again with Yia Yia and Papa. Here I am on my first boat road... in adn around the hotel. Not sure what to think about this life jacket!
This pond was on the golf course right outside our backdoor in our room. Duckies!

Yia Yia and I like to play Peek A Boo.

Here a slide show from our weekend in Palm Springs with Yia Yia and Papa!

Finger Foods

Mommy started giving me finger foods yesterday! I got to try cheerios yesterday and today I got to have banana. I am already getting pretty good at feeding myself. :) And yes, I do like banana, just not mashed. :) Good stuff. I also tried green beans today... those? Not so good.

Sitting Up

I figured out how to get myself sitting up from laying down! I am so amazing!

MAY 2010 Slideshow

Here's my slide show for the things I have done in May so far, includes:
Seattle (Evan's pics from our hike to Twin Falls, University Fair, brunch, game night, and zoo)
Mother's Day
Daddy's Birthday

Daddy's Birthday

Saying goodbye to Grandma at the airport. Sad.
Here I am on the airplane in my own seat! I did a good job on the plane. On the way to Seattle I was awake for most of the flight and had fun in Mommy's lap. It went my fast. On the way back home I fell asleep after we took off and woke up when we landed. I was tired. We had a great, busy weekend.

And when we got home, it was Daddy's birthday! 35 candles!!
Happy Birthday to the best daddy in the whole wide world!

Twin Falls hike

Mommy and I went on a hike with a bunch of peeps! Evan, Jessica, Sameer, Cathy, Wendy, Kathy, and Grandma! I loved looking at all the water and the moss on the trees!
This is Evan.

OOooo, moss! Moss is so soft. I liked it!

Hiking in the Northwet is very different from hiking in California! It was humid, and there was so much water, and so many big trees! It is awesome!
